Senior Chief Operations Specialist (SW/AW) Kinyatta Cooper
Assignments Senior Chief Operations Specialist (SW/AW) Kinyatta Cooper, a native of South Carolina was born in 1974. He graduated in 1992 and enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1993 at Recruit Traning Command Orlando, FL. He subsequently graduated from Columbia College of Missouri with an Associate Degree in General Studies in 2011 and the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 184 (Gold) in 2014.
His first duty station was Port Operations, NA VSTA Little Creek, in Norfolk, VA. During this tour, he was Promoted to Operations Specialist Third Class.
Sea Assignments have included PRECOM USS HOOPER (DDG70) USS RUSSELL (DDG59), USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67), USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73),USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) and USS PONCE (AFSB(I)15).
His shore assignment included NAVSTA Great Lakes and Center of Surface Combat Systems Unit Great Lakes. He was made Chief Petty Officer in 2008 aboard the USS KITTY HAWK (CV 55)
He transferred to the Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit Great Lake in June 2009 as the Surface Common Core LCPO. In December 2011, he transferred to the USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) as the OI Division LCPO. In June of 2012, he was promoted to Senior Chier Petty Officer and selected as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for USS PONCE (AFSB(I)15). He is currently assigned to the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, RI.
His awards include the Navy and Marien Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marien Corps Achievements Medal (3 Awards GConductduct Medal (4 awards), and several unit and campaign awards.
